Dumplings and Wontons

 On Tuesday last week miss McCombie and Amy planed for Amys mum to come in and show us how to make dumplings and wontons. The ingredients is some pork and beef 1 kg of flour 600 mills of water some Chinese chives oil and won tong pastry. She took us though all of the steps how to make them. First she told us how to make the dough and the meat.  We got the dough out of the bowl and split into 4 pieces and started stretched it in to a circle and the cut it into little pieces. After the we got the rolling pins and rolled them out flat in the tale and put the meat in the middle and then fold it over.  The won tongs to me were hard to make you have to do a lot of different folding skills Bill, Amys brother taught some people how to do the won tongs Zara showed me and Tiare how to do it but i wasn't good. The bosh took about 10 to 15 minutes. When the were finished Sally spread them out evenly so we got 6 dumplings and 2 wontons  They where really yum. 

    

Spring development

 Today Mary came to our school again to look at our trees that have grown over the last couple of months. We have lots of different tress  and they are all growing so fast . The different types of trees are Apple Plum and Feijoa When the trees are young we have to cut of the fruit that has started to grow because the tree might split because the fruit will be to heavy. Here are some pictures that miss McCombie took.

This is mine Mickis ,Amy's, Jenaydes tree we planted it called it Patrica and its a apple tree. We planted another tree called petunia but we only got a picture with Patrica.

Speech 2020 twin towers

                       Twin Towers

Today I am going to talk to you about the twin towers.

 As you all probably know the 9th of September 2001

 something really terrible happened to the twin towers. 

The twin towers were built in the 1970s and were destroyed

 in 2001. Nobody really knows the name of the man who 

decided to crash the planes into the twin towers which caused

 a lot of deaths and injuries to the people in new York.    

The twin towers were known as the tallest building in 

 world until the Sears Tower in Chicago was built. About

 343 firefighters and 2 paramedics and 37 police officers

 died trying to save people during 9/11.

There were approximately 18 survivors. There was one survivor

 and he was rescued 27 hours after the collapse of the North Tower.  

19 years ago this man called Welles Crawford did something

 so brave. He was only 24 years old when he was in the

 south tower on the day of september 9/11. As he got out

 of the building he texted his mum and told her that he

 was ok but he needed to go back in and help the firefighters

 save as many people as he can. He ran into the building and

 went up and checked every floor and found a group of

 survivors on the 78th floor. He managed to get some of the

 people out but sadly he didn't survive.   

Did you know there were 94 stories in the twin towers and it

 took 9 months to clean up after 9/11. After the north tower

 hit 18 minutes after the south tower was hit. The north tower

 was hit at 8:46 am and the south tower was hit at 9:03 am.

 After the planes hit the towers the towers burnt for 99 days until

 the fires were put out. The twin towers have been targeted before

 with a bomb that killed 6 people and wounded 1000 people. As the

 plane hit into the twin towers a 47 story building collapsed because

 of the damage that happened to the twin towers and however there

 was a third plane and that hit into the building. 

Conclusion:

In conclusion, to sum up my points about the Twin Towers. These points are…

• The Twin Towers attack happened on September the 11th 2001

• There were nearly 3000 people killed

• The planes crashed into the Twin Towers

• There were 343 firefighters, 37 police officers and 2 paramedics died.

This is my Tongan slide that me and Jenayde made today. We had to choose between 5 different activity's and we chose to just do heaps of facts about Tonga Though. The five activity's were Tongan dances Tongan food art and just do some research about it.   With all of this research we found i think that i have learnt alot about Tonga.

For one of our reading activity we had to do a diary entry. We had to choose a character from the book i chose prosper.  

Dear Diary,

Today I sent Bo and Hornet to do a job for me to go to the redhead bearded man to help him with something. Later that day they came back and said it took a long time to get it done but they finally did it. Then later we made our way over to pick up the money that bo and hornet earned for going to the job. The redhead bearded man was going to give us more than we expected until an item fell out of hornets pocket and the redhead bearded man saw it and he knew it was his. Then we all ran away back to Scippos hotel “I thought that we would never get the money for that job” sad hornet. Then Scippo pulled out a lot of money and showed it to Hornet. Hornet was very confused and shocked and snatched the money and went inside  while counting all of the money that Scippo showed her. I was really disappointed in Hornet for stealing something that belongs to the redhead bearded man.

My pet dogs

As you know on both of the pet days i showed my two dogs Maddie and George griffin.

George griffin the little brown one is about 20 weeks right now and he's a little rascal. Mum brought him a lot of toys but his favourite toy is his bowl for some reason. He is a Brussels griffon, a small sized dog and they only grow up to about 9 to 11 inches and 8 to 11 pounds. George loves walks and his ball but he doesn't like his baths but during walks he thinks he is really scary and tries to bark at other dogs to scare them away. Maddie is a border collie/bearded collie. Border collies are sheep dogs. She is 10 years old and turning 11 in October. Maddie loves baths, walks and balls. She gets really excited when we say one of those words. She is a very playful dog but since she is getting older her legs get sore when we go for walks or play ball with her. She weighs 25 kgs and I think her height is 46 cm. During walks, Maddie is a guard dog she tries to pull and she growls if another dog gets close to us.

Here is my prototec that i have done. Its better than last time i got 82% i think i seem to keep getting 3 or 4 more percent right every time i do prototec. I needed to work on my divided more:] 

Baking

Yesterday i made chocolate chip cookies. My dad helped me half way through because i couldn't do all of it with one arm. They were pretty good but we forgot to flatten them down to they ended up looking like big puffs.

I went out during lock down.

On Saturday afternoon i was playing ping pong with my brother and i triped over and heard a big crack in my thumb.Its started swelling up so mum took me to the hospital. Then i got a x ray and you could see that it was broken so i got a cast.

-Most animals act like there humans.
-Did you know in 2012 a group of humpback whales  protected a grey whale from a pod of killer whales.
-humpback whales protect a lot of animals from orcas including seal,seal lions.
-Did you know that dolphins have been known to protect and help dogs,whales and humans.

Three Weeks at Sea

What i would take with me for three weeks at sea.

1.Spam: I don't like spam but i chose it because you can eats it in 2 years.

  

2.Meat jerky: I chose meat jerky because its like real meat bit dry so it doesn't go off for ages.

3.Dried fruit :Dried fruit is kinda like the same is meat jerky like real fruit but its dry so it doesn't go off for ages.  

4.Pop corn: because of a small amount of moisture found within a popcorn kernel. So popcorn can still go bad but if its not stored properly.

5.cereal: Cereal can expire over 6 to 8 months so i thought it would be a good idea to bring it along with you

7.Caned tuna:I chose caned tuna because all caned food you can eat over the past 3 years 

8.Caned fruit salad:caned fruit salad is like the same as caned tuna so you can eat it over the past 3 years

9.Caned spaghetti:caned spaghetti is like the same as caned tuna and the other caned foods so you could always eat it over the past 3 years 

10. Last i chose lollies  because lollies only expire in 10 months or a year.

I chose most of these foods because they don't expire really quickly. But also some of these food i don't like but i would still probably eat it if we had nothing else to eat:]

Prototec

  This is my prototec that i have done today. I have done pretty well and its my best so far. I have done way better today on my take aways today. But i randomly got a lot more of my times wrong than my divideds. So by Wednesday next week i should get up to the 90s.

Here is my prototec that i have done today. I have got a 75% today and it is way better that my 66% yesterday. I mostly need to work on my take aways for some reason. I got 8 right on my divided by's and i am pretty happy about it. Next time i am going to try beat 75% and i hope i do.:]

family walks

over the past week and a bit me and my family have been going for big walks and bike rides around my neighbour hood and taking my dog for walks to. we are still in the middle of teaching my puppy how to walk properly he is really naughty when me and jake walk with him and my mum.;}

lockdown

since school has been shut down for 4 weeks me and my family have been doing some baking like biscuits,cakes,muffins and much more today me and Jess made cupcakes with buttercream icing it was delicious and yesterday me and my mum made Anzac biscuits that was Delicious to:]

As you can see schools have been shut down all over new Zealand because of the virus going around.
But right now i am at home given a list of school work i have to do since school isn't open.
